1. Our Services

We provide non-clinical, creative, supportive sessions to help children and young people understand and manage their emotions.

We do not provide: crisis intervention, clinical therapy, psychiatric diagnosis or medical advice. Our services are not a substitute for professional healthcare or counselling services.

1.1. Initial Consultation - Prior to the commencement of sessions, a parent or carer consultation is required.

1.2. Sessions - We provide one-to-one sessions in the client’s home, in a community space, outdoors in nature or online. Where sessions are held in the home or online and particularly with younger children, a responsible adult should be within sight or sound of the session.

Sessions are typically 60-minutes in duration. In some cases, longer or shorter sessions may be offered where this is considered more appropriate.  The number or frequency of sessions will be reviewed on an ongoing basis and agreed in collaboration with the parent/carer.

1.3. Fees and Payment - Fees are payable in advance of each session or agreed block of sessions. Full details of fees are listed on the Services section of the website and will be confirmed on the acceptance form provided following the parent consultation. Forest Flourish reserves the right to review and amend fees, with reasonable notice provided.

1.4. Cancellations and Notice - A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for the cancellation or rescheduling of an appointment. Where less than 24 hours’ notice is provided, the full session fee may be charged.

In the event that Forest Flourish is required to cancel a session, as much notice as possible will be given and an alternative appointment will be offered.

1.5. Between Session Contact - Contact between sessions is limited to administrative purposes only, including the arrangement or scheduling/rescheduling of appointments. Contact for this purpose can be made via email, the website or text message. In the event that an activity has been left with the client to do between session, this can be communicated via email or text but a response can not be guaranteed before the next session.

Therapeutic advice or support is not provided outside of scheduled sessions but where additional support is required between the scheduled appointments, extra sessions may be arranged where availability allows.

2. Confidentiality

All sessions are conducted in confidence and the child’s privacy will be respected at all times. Information will not be disclosed to third parties without consent. However, confidentiality is subject to legal and safeguarding limitations. If there are concerns regarding the safety or wellbeing of the child, or others, Forest Flourish has a duty to share relevant information with the appropriate services in accordance with Safeguarding procedures. This is explained in more detail in the Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy.

2.1.  Working with Parents and Carers - Parents and carers are recognised as an important part of the support process. Where appropriate, general updates, strategies and feedback from sessions may be shared with parents with the client’s permission.

3.  Suitability of Service

Forest Flourish reserves the right to review the suitability of the service for each child. Where it is considered that the service may not be the more appropriate support, this will be discussed with the parent or carer and, where possible, alternative services may be suggested.
